Production of the suspense psychological thriller Beneath the Mississippi began on May 12. Chicago exteriors were shot with the cast, followed by small town Iowa sequences in Burlington, Iowa. The crew then filmed the challenging under water sequences before heading to the river to shoot the bulk of the film. Director Lonnie Schuyler will direct the river portion of the film in sequence, as they actors essentially live the lives of their characters. The harsh conditions (50 degree water on 50 degree nights) and lack of facilities will take their toll on the actors. But the cast is up to the challenge, and in all cases signed on because of it.
