Background | Opportunities | Castings

This psychological thriller has many of the hallmarks of the classics of the genre, from the desolate landscape to the disturbing characters that indicate things are not as they seem in the world of Hannah, our central character. Harvest is more about fear and mysteries of the past than it is a story of graphic violence. We believe that this film project is true to the horror genre, yet transcends it to appeal to a wide audience.

Harvest is one of Ronick’s lead projects based on several factors: It is an adaptation from a novel, readily translatable to the screen. Publication of the novel to coincide with the production of the film will be mutually beneficial in marketing both projects and establish Ronick’s presence through both forms of media. Ronick also holds publication rights to the novel, essentially allowing us to generate income from what might otherwise be an advertising liability.

Harvest can be filmed relatively inexpensively for a potentially large return. Exteriors in small towns and farms of the Midwest constitute the only significant below-the-line expenses. Interiors can be filmed locally on sound sets, helping defray costs.

While the subject matter of Harvest is potentially explosive, the project carefully avoids taking a political or social stand. It’s a topical project that we feel will generate much interest and discussion, and help make Harvest a success in the marketplace.
